We woke up to a bright sunny day on the second day of our Berlin tour. We removed our XCAPE eScooters from the Outlet and found them fully charged after only 4 hours. With that done, we kept some snacks and water bottles in our bag pack to complete our preparations.
The next spot which we had to drive using our XCAPE eScooter was the Reichstag Building. We quickly got on to our XCAPE eScooters, locked our helmets and drove through the roads. We closely followed the instructions of the navigation system.
We came to know that the Reichstag Building houses the German Parliament. It is of historic significance because it was the seat of the Weimar Republic government until it was seized by the Nazis in 1933. We roamed in and out for about three hours.
Before going to Berlin, we booked a table in the restaurant at the top of the Reichstag Building following a recommendation. We had the most amazing meal followed by an interesting audio tour around the dome.
We learned some history besides appreciating the design aesthetics and functional aspects of this iconic building. It was time to ride our XCAPE eScooters to reach the next destination. We had chosen East Side Gallery as our next exploration site in Berlin.
The interesting thing about East Side Gallery, which is the mile-long stretch of the Berlin Wall, is it being one of the largest remaining portions of the former divide between East and West Germany.
We folded our XCAPE eScooters and carried them along as we walked for blocks and blocks viewing all the wonderful expressions of artwork. There was both humorous and creative artwork on the remnants of the wall. We quickly clicked a few pictures without others in front of the art, making memories forever.
We had already traveled more than twenty kilometers. Our XCAPE eScooter could run for forty kilometers in a single charge. So, we quickly thought of reaching our third spot for the day. This shall be the final spot of our Berlin tour and had to be a good exploration site.
Deutscher Bundestag was our final destination of Berlin. The kids were quite weary now. So, they decided to play some music while riding their XCAPE eScooters. We enjoyed some songs on our way and reached the Deutscher Bundestag. For More Click Here
It is a building with a very interesting history. It was largely destroyed in the 1930s but has been recently restored. When we reached there, we witnessed an impressive achievement in the field of architecture. They have combined the functionality of modern Parliamentary needs with preservation of the dominant elements of the original structure.
We, especially the kids of the Meyers family, had a marvelous experience as the Berlin tour ended. My son, Tom Meyer was inspired to become an architect after seeing the beautiful reconstruction. When we arrived at the hotel, we had a lot of memories in our treasure chest.
And all of these had the XCAPE eScooter central to them. It had made our traveling, strolling and cruising across the various historical sites of Berlin really easy. We are thankful to Berlin for such a great hospitality. Click here for More
