The street legal and foldable eScooter in front of the world famous Skyline of Shanhgai, China (上海, 中国)
A weekend trip with the street legal and foldable eScooter XCAPE to Shanghai – Day 1
Last weekend my wife wanted to visit our family in Shanghai. After our marriage, life has kept us too busy in Wuhan, Hubei Province that we thought we need a break from our daily life to enjoy part of our weekend holiday with our family and partly travelling and staying together. We took our street legal and foldable eScooter XCAPE to help us in daily commuting. Since the XCAPE eScooter gets folded easily in 1 second, weighing around 19 kg and pulled along like a trolley bag, it was easy to carry it for our train journey from Wuhan to Shanghai. We then took a metro to the popular Old Shanghai.
After greeting our families and dropping down our luggage at their home, we took our XCAPE eScooter to start exploring the town. Old Shanghai reflects architectural beauty. While the whole of China has adapted itself to the modern technology and modern buildings, old Shanghai still possess Chinese traditional building, typical Chinese eateries and gardens. On our XCAPE eScooter, we enjoy riding along the roads of the old town admiring the beauty that surrounds us. We can adjust the speed of the XCAPE eScooter to 10kmph, 15 kmph or 20kmph. We wanted to go slow together and observe the beauty of the environment while checking out all small shops if we can find anything traditional that interests us.
We wanted to explore the popular sites as well. So we opend the Sygic Navigation APP with the Smartphone mounted on the handlebar of our XCAPE eScooter and navigated our way to the former French Concession. This place gives us the feel of the French architecture combined with the Chinese style of building. The most typical feature of this place is its gorgeous tree lined avenues which makes it so perfect to be explored on our XCAPE eScooter. It covers a huge area with wide variety of hip cafes and restaurants, concept bars and breweries, antique stores, art galleries and boutiques. We explored almost the whole of former French Concession while stopping by for some lunch and quick drink. The XCAPE eScooter makes things easy for us. We can fold it up in a second and keep it beside us while enjoying feeding ourselves in an outside café. Had not it been for the XCAPE eScooter that we checked out these streets- Wukang Lu, Dongping Lu, Julu Lu, Yongfu Lu, Xinle Lu and Changle Lu. Still giving us a range of 40 kilometer maximum distance ride in one charge, we were still left with 50% of the charge to move to our next spot.
Next, we navigated ourselves to the former British Consulate. We booked a cab where our XCAPE eScooter fit well at the back of our cab. British consulate has got a makeover and now owned by a Restaurant for dining and functions. Most part of the consulate has been rebuilt, but still there are 2 to 3 old building still showcasing its antique and architectural look. The British Consulate buildings are the oldest buildings in Shanghai. We carried our XCAPE eScooter with us while having a nice walk around the garden area admiring the trees, flowers, grass, 20th Century British building and most importantly being together at such a wonderful and peaceful place. Though the consulate no longer remains but the majesty is still evident.
We drive our way on our street legal and foldable eScooter XCAPE to the bund pedestrian walkway where we explored the area to find a local eatery serving the traditional Chinese food. Post our dinner; we wrote our XCAPE eScooter back to our family’s home. Our family was happy to see us back. While I put the XCAPE eScooter on charge for some more adventure the next day, I saw my wife looking at me lovingly. Probably she had the best day after a long time.
